About Brenda Beck Fisher
Although I was born to be an artist and majored in art in college, it wasn't until the end of 2001 that I put down my foot and picked up my art brush. I painted and entered a watercolor for a local exhibit and competition. I won Best of Show which allowed me to have a solo exhibit in which I managed to attract a large crowd (for a small town) and enjoyed the thrill of selling numerous paintings opening night. I knew I was where I was supposed to be in life. As thrilling as that was, it is still no match for the feeling I get while painting a new piece and watching it come to life on the canvas.
My love for the watercolor medium started with a watercolor class I took in college at Southeast Missouri State University under the direction of Jake Wells. I honestly don't remember much about the class except how to prepare the paper and the assignments. Twenty years after taking that class, I gathered some supplies and proceeded to create watercolors using what I feel is a God given talent.
At present, I live in Hannibal, Missouri, somewhat of an artist's community, and continue to create paintings to capture the beauty of my world around me. It is my desire to bring joy to the lives of others through my art.
